That was before I had Jaxon. That was before I was shown the unpleasant reality of losing so much sleep. And that was before I saw the happy look on Jaxon's face when he saw this red monster. I don't know how he does it, but kids love him.
So, one day, while flipping through channels, desperately hoping to somehow entertain Jax, I came across Sesame Street, and it was Elmo's World! (Gag) But Jaxon was instantly hooked. Seriously. I have pictures. What a discovery!! I found something to occupy the stinky Jax for a few precious moments! I love Jax and he is SO CUTE, but sometimes I want some minutes to myself.
So, a few weeks ago, my Mom sent Jax an Elmo movie in the mail. We turned it on, and for the full 77 minutes, Jax was glued. Wow. So, now, when Jax is up bright and early at 7 am, I turn on Elmo, stick him in his walker, and go back to bed! He is such a good boy to watch the whole thing and let me sleep! In my pre-child years, I would have thought this is totally wrong- to stick your kid in front of the TV like this! But now- I understand why parents do it. The break is needed. My feelings have changed toward Elmo. No Elmo, I LOVE YOU!
