Count your many blessings...

This isn't so up-beat, but It's what I'm thinking...

Andrew & I have a huge problem with being covetous. (SP?) And in today's world, it's so easy to
be. We always catch ourselves saying, "That's not fair" ,"They have this, they have that, and I don't". We always want want want. It's so easy to feel sorry for yourself, and whine and complain about your circumstances. It's so easy to see others, and compare. Why is it easier to see what you don't have than what you do? I wish we didn't get so caught up in wordly possessions. There are more important things, but why is that so hard to see? If we could just spend as much time being thankful for what we have as we do complaining and comparing, we would probably be better off.

I have been reading Les Miserables, and man their lives sucked! Like every single one of them! They were suffering from poverty, starvation, and discrimination. And there is no justice. It's so sad. Every time I pick up the book, I cry. It makes me feel very grateful for my current life situation.

Ya know, we really are quite lucky. Yeah, we don't have it all, not even close. But what we do have is what matters most. It could be worse. Yeah, we don't have an X box 360, a great camera, lots of clothes & toys, great furniture, and expensive decorations. But, we DO have a roof over our heads, food, eachother, a CUTE healthy baby, and we live in America, where we can do whatever we want. And isn't that what matters most? Yes. It is. It matters who you are, not what you have.
