Talbot Fondue Dinner

Every year, my husband's family has a "fondue" dinner. The reason fondue is in quotations is because to me, this idea is still new. I had never heard of it til I married Andrew. I always thought of fondue as chocolate fountains. I didn't know there were other kinds. This is my 3rd fondue dinner. It's an awesome tradition and so much fun.

What you do, if you don't already know, is you have boiling pots of broth or oil in the middle of your table. Each person is given their own set of forks with their own color to tell them apart. Set around the table on plates are raw pieces of meat. You then stab the little meat piece with your colored fork, then place it into the boiling oil. You wait about 5 minutes, and VOILA! You've got yourself a piece of cooked chicken. Also set around the table are a large variety of dips for your meat. This year, due to last years lack of sauce, Andrew & I brought a WHOLE BUNCH of sauces: Apricot glaze, Lemon sauce, Oriental sauce, Sweet & Sour, raspberry sauce (for brownies), Fruit dip, buffalo sauce, BBQ sauce, & for me a secret stash of A-1. Most of them were homemade! It was fun to experiment and learn how to make sauces. (It's harder than it seems!)

And THIS is what a fondue dinner looks like....

Gina will just love this picture of herself!

The fondue dinner is meant for adults, so this is where the kids were...

of course the boys:

And the rest of 'em..

Meanwhile...
It also happened to be my father in-laws birthday. He's 60! And everyone let him know it! He got teased so bad. This "60 sucks" bag is full of 60 suckers!

HAPPY 6OTH!

I cannot stop laughing about the boys playing video games pictures! Carson's expression is especially hilarious! Love it! I'm so glad we have someone in the family who remembers to take pictures at all our events! Thanks!

Relax. Be nice. Whatever.
