We're a little excited about V-day around here. Could ya tell?
But I think most of the happiness stems from the fact that this year, we'll be doing something different and immensely fun for Valentines Day.
Get ready for it....

We're going on a Vacay! To San Diego.
And unlike our planned trip to Hawaii, our planned trip to Cali, & our planned trip to go see Brand New,
this trip WILL NOT be cancelled.
I will not allow it.
this face only means one thing: we temporarily have money.
tax return=happy andy. happy andy=happy alecia. a happy andy and a happy alecia?! really? I can hardly believe it!
yaaaaay
yaaaaay
yaaaaay
Valentines Day 2010 is a good time in our home.
Here's what else we've been up to:
I made these ultra cute valentines for jax. i told myself years ago, that just because I am getting older, DOES NOT mean I will stop doing valentines. I think I've done valentines every year.. and I will continue to do so! *i love holidays!*
i hate stealing ideas, but what i hate even more than stealing ideas, is not giving proper credit to those who thought of them. so there it is. go check it out. hers are for sure better, but i have the cuter kid. nah, i think mine are better.
and to get even deeper into the spirit of things, i took on another task: trying to create cupcakes like 25 main. if you don't know, 25 main is the dang cutest little cupcake parlor here in st. george. they are ridiculously overpriced, therefore trying to convince andy that they're worth it, didn't go over so well. so i was like, what the heck? I am amazing in the kitchen, everyone knows it, i'll just go home and whip up some cupcakes of our own. riiiiiiiight.
if only it were that easy. because nothing ever is.
but, I am almost fully satisfied. These things are gooood. I googled "how do you get moist cupcakes?" With the result being : never bake them the full time. i followed that advice and it worked! i made chocolate and vanilla cupcakes, homemade chocolate frosting & raspberry cream cheese frosting! yeah- i was on a role!
i added the conversation hearts because geez, it's almost Valentines! I thought they were pretty good if i don't say so myself!
not at all comparable to 25 main, but it worked and my sweet tooth was satisfied.
oh , and because i couldn't resist this one. now, when i point the camera at jaxon, he doesn't ignore me entirely like he used to. Now, he hams it up doing cheesy smiles or weird things like this:
the end.

Your valentines turned out so cute! I frequent the same blog and I was thinking about doing those, too, but I'm not sure if I can get Jake to pose. I was also thinking about the cupcake thing. I really want to try to make the ones with filling inside. So much for losing weight, huh? Yours look delicious!
I'm glad you guys are able to get away for a fun weekend in San Diego! :) Sounds like fun!
