Jaxon went in for his 1 year check up! Wow- he's old, it finally hit me. Jaxon weighs 25 lbs and is in the 80th percentile. He is 31 inches tall and is in the 88th percentile! Yay! He's growing well and all the doctors say he will play football or basketball! We hope so! We think he will be quite a big kid!
Some other new from the Doc that wasn't the funnest to hear was...Jaxon's head is huge! We knew that- but we didn't know it was that big. Well, he measured it and it's off the charts! Yikes! big heads run in my family with the boys. Luckily, just the boys, not me. I told the Doc that it's completely heriditary and I've never been worried about it and neither has any other Doc. Well....just to be sure that nothing is wrong.. Jaxon has to get a ct scan! Poor kid! I'm not too excited about it. I know nothing is wrong with Jaxon..but they have to be sure. UGH! Well...I'll keep you updated on how that goes!
Another thing the Doc discovered about Jaxon, is his ears are very waxy! Once again, he gets this lovely trait from me! Some people just make more wax, and we happen to fall into that category. Every few years I get so much wax that I can't hear anything, yeah I know it's attractive! I have to go to the Doc and have them get it out! Yuck! Most peoples ear wax just naturally runs out in their sleep (I know, pretty picture), but my ear canals are extra small, so the extra wax I produce just builds up! I know, sick! Well, Jax might be destined for the same thing. One thing that many Doctors have told me is to NEVER use q-tips! They are so bad for your ears! They just push all the wax back in further! So- I haven't been doing q-tips with Jax, I didn't know what to do with him. The doc said to lay him back in soapy bath water for a little bit, then when he gets out to have him lay down, and the wax should just naturally run out. So if you were wondering how to clean your kids ears, there ya go! Random fact for the day!
