Dinner is served

This is what happens when I "make" dinner.
ALSO
Combined with these non-motherly traits:

poor+disorganized+last minute planner+culinary challenged+kitchen loather

"COOKING"

I loathe the very thought of it. It's pure misery to me.

Here is what dinner consisted of that sad, miserable & unforgettable night:

-fried eggs
-unsalted peanuts
-saltine crackers with mustard
-tomato soup
-apple sauce
-canned peaches
-strawberries

It was actually kind of fun to see how totally random I could be. Andrew said he liked it. And I know he meant it because we've been married almost 3 years and we don't lie about things like that. If it sucked, he would tell me. I think. We are brutally honest about things. It did suck though. It's pretty sad that he thanked me for THAT.

I guess he was just happy to get a dinner at all, and that is sad.

There should be laws against people like me. There should be cooking classes starting at age 5 for all women. I am not sexist, but in the LDS culture, it is automatically assumed that the sweet little wife has dutifully prepared an awesome dinner for their family. Along with a clean house. If I were to be judged on those things, I would be a complete failure! UGHH! I hate it!

Why can't this "Motherly" thing just come natural to me??

The mom thing does come natural-you have an awesome little boy! The cooking and cleaning will come. :)
PS-Kevin's the cook at our house.

I am like you! I can cook though....kind of... if its easy, but cole doesn't like it. I am too though disorganized, and a horrible cleaner! I do have a bunch of no fail super easy meal ideas and recipes if you would like some. Seriously, SUPER easy.

uh....have you tasted my cooking?! I am SO NOT a talented cook!!! All I do is find a few EASY things to make, and make them again and again and again until we can't stand it anymore! Then I move on to another. like, really, it's not hard to open a jar of spaghetti sauce, boil some pasta, and put them together. I have been making that once a week for probably our entire 8 years of marriage. Then there's the bean and bacon soup (campbell's) with grilled cheese sandwiches that we have once a week too. Not to mention the bean burritos (canned beans) with grated cheese (already grated in the bag) I am SO not a cook! and for Pete's sake, cleaning and me have a love/hate relationship (mostly hate) I HATE IT TOO! There are only a few women out there who have the gifts of homaking, the rest of us are just like you!

haha I love it! It's so refreshing to see this since every woman I know around here is the perfect lil home maker cooking wife. I enjoy cooking aslong as I don't decide what it is! I am so not creative w/ meals but give me a recipe and I can whip it up! Love this though it looks like a meal I would have when we need to go grociery shopping.

Relax. Be nice. Whatever.
