Andrew's Dad has a fossil/rock business. He does all sorts of things like going in the mountains and gathering fossils and rocks to sell! Most of his stuff he can get right here in the St.George area. People from all over the world buy his stuff. It's pretty cool, actually. One of the things that he sells are called shrimp eggs. It looks like dirt, but there are actually eggs in it, and if you put it in water, the eggs hatch and you see shrimp! It's crazy. They are actually back from the dinosaur ages. So they're like dinosaur eggs. It's kind of cool.
Anyway....sometimes when we need some extra money, Andrew's Dad lets us do some shrimp eggs. He gives us a huge tub full of what looks like dirt, and we have to put a spoonful into little bags, then put those bags in other little bags, then seal them off. We get 5 cents a piece for putting them in the little bags, and 10 cents a piece for putting them in the bigger bags and sealing them. We have to do 3,000 of them by tomorrow! Since Andrew works all day every day....guess who gets to do the shrimp eggs? Yeah, that would be me. But since I do nothing all day, it's actually ok. It's just very monotonous work...bleh. I'm taking a break right now from it to post.
I'm almost done with putting them in the little bags, and now I have to work on putting them in the bigger bags, and sealing them. That's my least favorite, because it takes longer. But the good thing about it is that I can watch TV while doing it at least. And I'm getting sorta fast at it. By 3,000 I'll be a pro!
Back to work I go....BLAH!
