(this was written a couple weeks ago. Mason is now 6 weeks old!)
Mason is already 1 month old!
Mason is already 1 month old!
He feels bigger, i don't like it!
here are some things about Mason at 1 month:
-he loves Jaxon's voice. Even if Jaxon has a Darth Vader mask on.
Mason is a cuddle monster. He loves loves loves to cuddle me. A little too much. He won't get himself to sleep, or calm himself down. I have to cuddle him tight, and pat his bum. Jax HATED to cuddle and refused to do it. he wanted his space and would prefer to scream himself to sleep. weirdo.
I love that Mason likes to cuddle, but it gets kinda hard when there is stuff to be done and he is wanting to be held the whole time!
He is a little less maintenance than jax. so far. there was this one day that i put him on a blanket, just like this. he just laid there. he didn't cry or fuss for awhile. he just kicked his legs and made little noises. it was nice. but usually he's not that chill. like i said, he loves to be held.
Mason is a momma's boy. Sometimes only I can be the one to calm him down or get him to sleep or eat a lot.
Mason kind of has colic I'd say. Its not as severe as Jaxon's was, but i'd say he's colicky.
he has acid reflux, we do know that.
he grunts and grunts like no one's business and has since the minute he was born.
the child hates to eat & sleep! ahhhh! another jaxon? really? WHYYYYY?
he is a lazy eater, and has to be forced to eat til he's full. he'd rather snack every hour if he could.
he sleeps well at night. (knock on wood). and i know i AM SO LUCKY! BUT he will not sleep during the day. i'm talking like 1/2 hour naps, that's it! What the heck! so yeah... i have laundry and dishes and stupid things like that to do, and i can't do them because i have a stinky mason who won't sleep and wants to be held all day. too bad!
he's perfect! really though ,he is! other than some of his personality traits, his looks are perfect!
(well , he could use some eyebrows. i may need to draw some in)
his little head is JUST the right size, and he's just perfectly proportioned! (the Dr. said it himself!)
he's not off the charts in any way (like the stinky jax was). he's average.
now, i'd like to work on chubbing him up a bit.
advice anyone?

I wouldn't work on putting weight on unless the dr. says so. There are high calorie formulas to help with that, but at this tiny stage, thats about all they can eat until 4-6 months. (we did this with kai, calorie packing is what it's called) I think routine is best for kids, naps at a certain time every day, swaddling, complete darkness, and white noise. Dax had acid reflux so he always slept in a bouncer, carseat, or something on an angle(we put foam under the bassinet pad to prop it up on an angle). You could try a faster flow nipple also for feeding? maybe he is working too hard and gets tired and doesn't want to finish his bottle? Just my advice...at some point youre willing to try everything!!
NOOOooo!! I like how little he is!! lol. He is such a sweetheart-call anytime and I'll come snuggle him ;)
