A Day in Memphis

Mississippi River Walk

Mississippi River!

MUD ISLAND RIVER PARK
I had gone online to find "things to do in Memphis" and this was on the top of the list. It is a park right by the Mississippi River. The pictures online were a little deceiving, it made it look like it had a pool you could swim in, but it didn't! But that's okay. It was still kind of cool anyway. There was the Mississippi River walk that took you from the start to the end of the Mississippi River, showing you all the states it went through! Very interesting! It starts in Minnesota and ends in Louisiana. It's huge! It was cool because it was an actual replica of the river, with all it's twists and turns, and islands here and there. It really had water flowing through it and everything! There were also other things to do at this park, but we had Jaxon with us so we were very limited. You could rent canoes and take them out on the Mississippi, or they had this little pool place where you could rent peddle boats, you could also go on this ferry thing! They all looked fun, but no babies allowed! There was also a Museum, and a cool monorail to ride, but both were too expensive. We just walked around the park, and got some great views of the Mississippi River.

Downtown Memphis

Look at this happy baby!

CORKY'S BBQ
After Mud Island River Park, we went to Corky's BBQ. This was on the top of the list for "places to eat in Memphis". It is a southern BBQ resturaunt- YUM! We got BBQ pulled pork, baked beans, "hush puppies", and rolls! It was pretty good. We gave Jax a taste of the sauce, but he wasn't so sure about it!

FIREFLIES
On the way home, we stopped at the park and played. Then when we came home, we put Jax down for the night, and went to the park right next to us to look for fireflies! I had never seen one in my life, so I was SOOO excited! We saw a few come out, but not a bunch! It was so weird to see little random flashes of light here and there. Andrew caught a few, they're not very fast. I really tried to get some pictures of them because it was SOOO cool, but nope, didn't work!!

Here is a slideshow of our fun day!!

Memphis looks so fun! I'm jealous that you're getting a tan everyday while Logan is still sitting at 60 degrees and raining. :( Cute blog!!

Relax. Be nice. Whatever.
