some more clearing up.

i appreciate all my readers, and i'm pretty sure someone in my family is just trying to stir up some drama because they are bored, i guess?

But, I am bugged.

Here are some things all should know:

A) If you don't like my humor, then you don't have to read my blog. it's that simple. i'm not going to change who i am for a few people who get really weird about things that most can take as a joke. unless i'm being really offensive, no one really has a right to tell me what i should and shouldn't write on here. even if i am your daughter. because the fact is, I'm grown up now. and the self image i choose to make for myself, is up to me. if youre embarassed because my behavior reflects back onto you, and makes you look bad in some way, well then that sounds like something you need to overcome.

B) Being a "happily married straight woman who believes in gospel and family" has absolutely zero to do with how i take pictures and run my business, thank you very much.

C) this is NOT my photography blog. If you're solely interested in my photography, that's awesome. Visit that blog. This blog is where I post family stuff, personal stuff, MY OPINIONS, and it's a place where I can be myself because i don't think i really should need to please anyone. and i also don't really think being myself is such a bad thing.

if this ruined a professional relationship you'd want to have with me, then I'm probably not the photographer for you anyway. there are TONS of photographers out there these days, & if my personal life doesn't fit your expectations, that's fine. you can choose someone else.

the funny thing is, i'm not usually a rude , straight-forward person. i'm pretty well-mannered but occasionally i say things. i'm quirky and a little crazy, but for the most part , i am a nice, trustworthy person. but i'm not really a pushover and i don't deal well with people trying to tell me how to run my life. that's when this meaner person comes out. sorry you all had to see it.

i didn't really think that anyone would really take me seriously on my last post when i said that because obviously i am just kidding. I am married to a man.

but apparently some of you are questioning me (you know who you are), which i think is ridiculous.

American Idol: The Truth

haha, everyone knows that on my blog I pretty much always say how I feel about things.

And since it's my opinion, I'm always right.

No, JK.

But for real, this is really how everyone needs to feel about AI this year.

Because, this year for some bizzaro reason, lots of people DO NOT like AI this year.

This kind of ticks me off. Mainly because I don't understand why!!

Is it because they have different types of people this year? I love it, because there are SO many CRAZY, UNIQUE , TALENTED artists! I want everyone to see that and feel the same about it.

To be honest, I like the girls. And this year, I am SURE a girl will win.

This is who my money's on:

Didi.

I will admit its not just because she is clearly GORGEOUS. (andrew loves her & i'm not ashamed to admit to my small lesbo crush on her.) Her voice gives me chills. Adam did that to me last year. that's a good sign. I am in love with her. She seems sweet too, not like the stuck up snob she very well could be with those looks. And I'm betting she wins.

But...it's rough

because

i really really like her too.

Crystal.

She's crazy and bold, yet natural and honest. She doesn't care about what anyone thinks of her. I love her too. Not in the lesbo way of course. Her dreads aren't super attractive to me, but they fit her. I love her whole style. And she usually picks some awesome songs, and she plays the freakin harmonica. C'mon, that's cool.

But, again I am torn

She is just awesome and weird and it totally works. she also doesn't care what anyone else thinks, she just does her thing. i love when people can just be themselves. The fact that she can play like 83 instruments is freaking cool.

sometimes she sings stupid songs. but she has an amazing voice. when she sang coldplay, i felt like crying.  i just love that song. it was waaaaay too slow, but i love that song.

i like something about the way she is a little unsure of herself. her voice, when she chooses the right song , and isn't incredibly nervous is SO unique. love it. I don't think she'll get too much further in the competition, but i do like her. and her EYES. maybe after she's done, if anyone has her number, i'll call her and see if she wants to spend some time with me and my camera. She is flippin gorgeous.

she is so incredibly strange but also crazy talented. i have a hard time listening to her talk, because she acts like she's not quiiiiite with it, BUT her voice surprises me. AND she's pretty.

BUT i still like Didi.

I'm a little afraid for Didi, because for some reason , the judges love to tear her apart for no apparent reason.

She's too sweet and not completely sure of herself.

As for the guys....well I like some of them.

i  really like Lee & andrew. 

BUT a guy is not going to win this year.

New cousin

Yesterday we went to Cedar to meet Jax's new cousin, Hailey!

I also got some new faces to play with & some delicious window light.

"Cascus"

Jaxon is obsessed with "cascus" aka,  cactus

Everywhere we go, he wants to point out a cactus. If there's not one where we are he says "Mom, lets go find some"

We'll go on walks and see cactus. He'll make me touch them, but he never dares. When we have to walk away from the cactus, he cries.

What is a mother supposed to do?

I'll tell ya what I did...

We spent our Friday night at Lowes searching for the perfect cactus to take home and plant and keep on our counter for jaxon to always see.

We named it Carl.

Carl the Cactus.

Andrew and I struggle to keep all types of plants from dying. But cactus are apparently supposed to be pretty low key. This cactus has as a year warranty! If it dies, we get a new one! And it says it's supposed to eventually get 6 feet tall. Who knows if that will happen in our lifetime though.

ABCs & 'Smile, Mama'

jax is in love with himself. I recorded a video of him on this camera, and he replayed it back about 50 times and was sad when I finally made him stop.

then he tried his camera skills for the first time. He said "smile, mama!"

and here is the video he watched over and over. and over. and over.

i love this guy.
