10 things worth blogging about:: Day 6

Our sweet baby Mason is growing up! I don't like it one bit! He is very different than Jax was at this age. I think he looks a lot different too, even though EVERYONE says he looks like jax!

Here are some things about Mason at 8 months:

-he is FINALLY sitting up, kinda. he'll sit up for a few minutes, then fall and get really upset about it. he'll remember his fall too, because when i have him sit up again a little later, he'll get really mad at me!

-he growls. its so cute. he mostly does it when he's hyper and excited, along with the fast moving of the hands thing he does too. He's a spazzy baby, but so was jax that way. he can't hold still. when he gets excited or tired or both, he tenses up his body and moves his wrists and hands. i'll have to record a video of it.

-he's still a mama's boy. he loves me so much. he thinks he needs me all the time. if he's in his bouncer and sees me walk by, he'll cry.

-he also loves jaxon so much. he'll sit and stare and him. they watch cartoons together every morning. Mason will be in his bouncer and jax will be right next to him. i love that they have each other.

-he sleeps through the night still! sooo nice! he still takes 2 naps usually. he's had an ear infection though, and doesn't sleep as much during the day because of it, i think.

he is in the 20% percentile for height and weight. he weighs 18 lbs. his head is in the 80% percentile.... my kids have big heads. its not a new concept.

-STILL no teeth! jax had like 4 by now! i'm totally fine with that. jax's teeth are all rotten now.

-he doesn't like to drink a bottle anymore. i don't know what to do about that. he wants FOOD, not formula. i'll mix some formula in with his morning rice cereal and apple juice (that's his favorite thing to eat), but still he's not getting enough liquid. he just doesn't want it. he'll close his lips up and there's no getting anything past that. at this age, jax was drinking 8 oz bottles every 3 hours AND eating jars of food. Mason is going to be lots smaller than jax because this was jax's crucial growing time i think.

-Mason has a certain sweetness about him. not that Jax wasn't/isn't sweet, but Mason has a different spirit about him. I can't quite put my finger on it. He's just a cute, sweet little lover. I think he's a bit more content with life than jax is or ever was. (jax is like his mom) Mason kind of just sits back and enjoys things, where as jax seemed like he was ALWAYS more motivated. he wanted to go and do and learn and grow so fast! i guess thats a first child thing? and mason is acting like the second child, maybe. its just fun to notice their differences. I know i shouldn't get into the habit of comparing them like they do, but its so hard!

-Mason is a bit darker and more petite than jax was. he has darker eyelashes and eyebrows and a teeny bit more hair than jax did. mason's eyes and nose are smaller than jax's were. he's just a wittle guy! i love it!

-Sometimes, i want to get mason out of his crib and just cuddle in bed with him. or sometimes i just want to pat his bum to sleep in my bed like we used to! lately, i have been. i figure i might as well do it now, jaxon grew up so fast (jax would never cuddle with me anyway). but if you get mason to the right tiredness, and have a little patience for him to settle down, he'll cuddle. i love cuddling with him. ohhh he smells so good. we'll just lay there and stare at each other for a long long time. he'll try to pick off my eyebrows, and i'll sniff his hair. we've both got each other right where we want each other.. its so sweet. i love that little guy. I'll probably read this later and cry. I don't know if i'll be able to have more kids, and if i do, i think its gonna be really hard because of my PCOS. so, even though its hard to slow down and enjoy these little moments, i do try.

well there's my mushy mason post. i love this man!
