i have one of those "get even" reactive personalities. if someone is being stupid to me, by all means, i want to be stupid right back. yesterday some stupid older hippie guy totally cut me off while driving. i really wasn't that mad until HE flipped me off! what the heck? that does NOT fly with me. so, then i just HAD to annoy him to get him back. i drove up by him and gave him a glare and he gave me one back. then i got in front of him and drove slowly, you know, to show him exactly who's boss.

i have friends that do dumb things. we all do , right? its called having relationships. sometimes we work it out, other times we don't. the times we don't, the times when i feel i've tried my hardest to mend the situation, and STILL the person is being completely stupid and immature, well those are the times i just about lose it. and when i lose it, its not pretty. when i lose it, i want to do mean things. BUT i like to think i've made this little goal to myself. i've never written it down or spoke it out loud, but its just something that crept into my head in the last few months. maybe , its called GROWING UP. maybe its called doing the right thing, maybe its called trying to find inner peace. who knows. but now, i'm trying my darnedest to be the bigger person. not literally of course, although i don't have to try too hard to actually be the bigger person. have you seen me? i'm 5' 10'' and three quarters. that right there should be a warning not to mess with me! haha jk, really i'm a nice girl. if you're nice and civil with me, well then, i'll be right back. but just don't be dumb. just don't.

my resolution is to act my age. this means trying REALLY hard to not overreact or react badly at all with someone who clearly wants me to. my goal is to hopefully set the example by acting like the adult, even if i am the younger one. its hard to stay out of situations like this, i think for any girl. we thrive on drama, and on revenge right? but taking part in these things, does nothing for me, except make me angry. who needs anger? i don't need it. there are plenty of other things to focus on. and that, i will do. i will bite my tongue when i so desperately want to make an equally stupid comment on facebook, i will walk away when someone wants to get a rise out of me just for the fun of it, i will keep my cool when i am accused of something i didn't do, i will have patience with the people who just talk in circles, the kind you can't get through to.  i will try to focus on positives. i will not think bitter thoughts about those who say dumb things to me. i will not let these things anger me!

ok, venting is done. i feel better now.

hahah i would love to see you glare at that hippi flippi. I think you handled our situation really mature and rationally. Sometimes it's hard to not over react when your feelings are hurt or annoyed. This is a great goal for all woman to take since you are right girls are dumb!

This is a goal I need to work on too. Not letting others get my goat no matter how hard they try. It's not always easy.. Being a girl.. And being that I am a very vocal person when it comes to my feelings. The best thing to do.. Like you said is to just walk away and be the bigger person.

Have you ever though about making a journal of this? Write down what the problem is, and how you really feel. You can vent, and also look back at the progress you have made.

I've been working on this for a couple of years now and it's freaking hard!!! Especially if you're dealing with someone that's trying to get your goat. Like Stac said, we all just went through some stuff and I think it went really well!! I know the hardest part for me was letting my real feelings show-because when I'm hurt my first instinct STILL is just to get mean...the more I've learned to just be hurt and sad instead of being mean, the easier this has gotten.

Next time some old hippie does that, just wave back with a huge smile! He would be SO taken back and confused, he'd probably be less of a jerk (at least we hope) these guys love to see that they can make some sweet woman mad. He probably has issues with his mom and takes it out on any woman he sees....kill em with kindness! :)

Oh Alecia I have been thinking the same things lately!! I hate the drama that usually comes with girls. I am also trying hard to do the same things as you. If you figure out how to master it PLEASE let me know!!

Relax. Be nice. Whatever.
