Memphis Botanical Gardens
For our "Sunday activity" (because I INSIST on getting out EVERY Sunday, since Jax and I are trapped in our apartments all week!) , We went to the Botanical Gardens in Memphis. So far, we haven't been so impressed with the city of Memphis (when compared to things in the west, Memphis is a little lame, old and sort of trashy. No offense Memphis fans, if there are any reading this!) We went to a golf course, and Andrew and I have been to some pretty cool golf courses. There is one in St. George, and a couple in Logan that are really pretty cool. Even Monroe, Utah has a cool one. This one is Memphis was SO Lame! Not only are golf courses lacking, but pretty much every chain resturaunt we have been to just hasn't tasted the same. We've heard the famous "Beale Street" isn't all that great, and we were a little disappointed by Mud Island Park. Maybe it's just us..? I don't know. But ANYWAY, we went to these gardens with sort of low expectations. BUT, much to our surprise, this place was BEAUTIFUL! It started out a little rough. The "rose gardens" were full of sun fried withered roses, pretty sad. There weren't a whole lot of flowers in bloom, were thinking because it was just too hot. Springtime would probably be the best time to go. We walked around the gardens for a few hours. There was a lot to see. There was a japanese garden, where there were all different japanese plants. There were a couple ponds with those big japanese nasty huge fish, and you could feed them! There were turtles and ducks too. There was a cactus garden. There was bamboo and big jungle plants. There were soooo many beautiful places to take pictures! This is a photographers heaven! And since I am a pretend photographer, I was lovin this! There were endless places to stop and pose for a picture. It's like it was designed for picture taking. Andrew was so good to humor me and pose for some really cute pics with Jax. You can tell how much fun I had! It was so so so so pretty! I have never seen so many different plants in one place! It was such a fun day and a great way to spend a sunday! I wish we could go back for pictures for all seasons. I took soooo many pictures.. here they are!
