Pool time

Pool time is here!!
Now jax & i can work on our tans...as for andrew, well sadly..that won't be happening for him.
poor guy! i'm glad jax got my skin!

in May....

way back in May...(wow, that sad)

some cool things happened.. no, i did not conceive a child. (was that inappropriate? sorry.)

BUT

I was asked to be part of a boutique! (my very first one!)
I got my own little chunk of space to fill with whatever I wanted. It was a little stressful, because I kind of like things perfect (some things). And originally I wanted to set up a little mini studio to do little mini shoots of kids..but that just couldn't happen this time, and I decided I was okay with that.

So thanks to My mom and dad (who helped me a ton with all of this shtuff) and to Andrew who watched Jax for a whole weekend (i didn't feel one bit bad for him, though. he is HIS DAD after all.) Thanks to Sierra at Sierra Nicole Designs (she was the one who asked me to be part of this!) & Thanks to a guy named Chad at Pressed Petals in Richfield who helped me finish up my frames by putting a back on them.

my picture display!

this is some "art" I tried to sell.
I got the frames at DI , painted and stained (thanks to my friend kim for her help!)

these watchbands are made by Sierra. I love them!

AAAAND that weekend was the Miss Piute Pageant.
And guess who won??
My cousin!
And two of her cute little sisters competed in the junior pageant.
so cute!

Congrats, Lyv!

THEN ...
on May 25th,
my cousin Tyler graduated High School

AND so did my brother Tanner.
I got to be there for both.

Grandma & Grandpa

AND I had about 14 billion photoshoots that month!
May was crazy.

But now June is SLOOOOW. and i kind of like it!

In the honor of Mitsi

Last week we said goodbye to our dear beloved Mitsi. Mitsi has been like a member of the family to us, and she has served us well. But her miles were getting too high and she was losing value. (in dollar signs. she'll never lose value in our hearts) haha! i wish i was kidding right now, but I'm not. We loved that Mitsi.

Ok, who is Mitsi?

This is Mitsi:

Our dear Mitsi.

The day we got her, was the day we became a one car family. (exactly 2 years and 2 months ago) We got Mitsi because we needed something slightly bigger than a car with a rack on top to carry our butts to Washington DC to sell APX for the summer. That trip put like 20,000 miles on her, i think. something like that. We saw half of the country (for the first time) with her, the east coast, the south (that summer we went to tennessee too). She has been such a peach the entire time. So much has happened in that car. We've gone on so many trips with her (ok , just camping trips, but still) This woman has been through it!!!  And just like every other car I've had to say goodbye to, I cried a little when we had to say goodbye and just leave her there in the dark parking lot. I feel like we betrayed her! (are these normal feelings?)

But....in honor of Mitsi and the love we have for her, we got a new Mitsi!
We traded her in for a car EXACTLY like her. EXACTLY. Only differences: New Mits is Silver and three years newer , and has less miles. thats it! Now THAT'S love.

People ask why? And we ask why not? She has been a great car. Sure, we'd love something bigger, better and newer. Heck, we'd love to have 2 cars, or even 3 cars! Although that is completely unnecessary. Our dream car is a honda pilot. But we don't NEED it. This car fits our family perfectly. And since I'm not in the baby making business, I'm not worried about having enough room for kids..

We have a little dilemma though. She needs a name. Our car salesman was named Felix. So, we first started calling her Fefe. Then, I realized I hate that  name, because it reminds me of a crappy little poodle. I hate poodles. So then , andy suggests "Betty" like "BettyBishi" (mitsubishi) . We tried that for a day, and it just didn't stick for some reason. We want a name with "ee" on the end. We thought of  "Betsy", but that's not really working either. Then we thought of names that you could make with the word MITSUBISHI. i like "ibus" but andy doesn't. We want an older ladies name. They seem to work best.

Any suggestions???

"Mitsi" just stuck. It was the perfect name. So now we refer to the cars as "old mits" and "new mits". But , that can't go on for long. She needs a proper name of her own.

So...when you think you see me driving around in a silver car that looks exactly like my old one, and you want to wave because you think it's me, it IS me! or andy. most likely andy. because he has the car all day. I won't get into the 2 car thing. I'm trying to be positive about it , because if not, i just get really bitter and angry at people who have more than us. (which most people have at least 2 cars) We're finally coming to terms with the fact that there IS no justice in the world and if we want something, we have to work about 65 times harder than the average person to get it.  I'm stopping right now! stopping. at least we got into low income housing! it could be worse! we could be on the outside again, watching these rich buttholes using our tax dollars to buy big trucks and flat screen TVs while they claim to be "poor" so they can live in low income housing! BAH! I'm stopping RIGHT NOW!!!

goodbye.

Memorial Day.

It was such a fabulous memorial day!
We went camping!
We first planned on camping up at Kolob Res... but it was muddy and crappy and dead and full of billions of people.
Well, those people are kind of dumb, because WE found the best camping spot.
Well, kind of.
This camping spot was right before you hit Zion, and from it you could see Smith's Mesa, but technically it was still in Kolob. If that makes any sense. Because it doesn't to me.

It was HOT, but when the sun went down, it was like heaven.
Here's a through the car window shot of the beauty that we were dealing with.

If my parents taught me one thing, its this:
To get the heck out of the house & enjoy nature on holidays.
(ok they taught me more than that! But to me, that is one of the most important and valuable things I've learned.)
Oh, do i ever love the mountains.
And so does andy. So, were quite the pair.
We're trying to instill the important-ness into jax's young mind, but we'll see.

I am so very grateful for my family and my freedom.
We are lucky enough to say, "hey, lets pack up our car and go camping"
and we are SO lucky enough to live in this beautiful state, where THESE MOUNTAINS are only like an hour away. gosh, are we ever lucky.

We hiked up onto this ledge where you could see part of Smith's Mesa on the right and Zion Ntl Park on the left and in the distance. glorious, just glorious.

jax helped with firewood.
no, we are not above making our child work for his keep at age 2 1/2.

tinfoil dinners.
ah, another happy memory.
these were delighful.
(thanks to my superman andy. he made all the food, and got everything ready. he's just like that)

oh, and guess who came along with us??
yep, the witch.
and she kept a strong eye on jaxon all throughout dinner.

there's a good possibility that jax is pooping his pants right here.

i love this!! ahhhh. i might frame it.

the big creep.

camp.

our hike the next day.
this was in Zion.
jax was obsessed with all the cactus. he kept pointing and saying "all the kinds"

at home. jax's dirty camping feet.

I hope you all had a fabulous memorial day!
I hope you all got out the house and enjoyed the beauty!!!

Relax. Be nice. Whatever.
