Talbot "Eastering"

On Easter Saturday, the Talbot family got together and went "Eastering". That's what they call it. Kinda silly, huh? Well anyway, on this cold dreary day we went to "Warner Valley". It's in the middle of nowhere. I can't even begin to explain how to get there. But that's where we went. It was a pretty cool place. We had Subway, and played on the cool rocks. The kids, Jaxon included, LOVED it! Joe, my brother-in-law brought 4-wheelers! Yes!! I grew up with 4-wheelers and haven't been on one FOREVER! So this just made my day! Jax was also a fan of the 4 wheelers. We took him on a ride when he was 8 months old, but not since then, & I doubt he remembered it. He was silent the whole time, which in Jaxon language, means he is highly amused and enjoying himself. It was fun times.

This also brought me back to my childhood. I always used to catch these: Horny toads!!
Yes, I caught this one. The kids did NOT know what to think about this weird spiky guy. I think he's cute.

goin on a "hike"

beautiful cactus flower!

the weather finally started to warm up. It was nice.

We hiked up to "fort pearce" --a fort built a loooong time ago.

Happy Eastering! Love, the Talbi!

easter morning

do you like how I am breaking down our Easter into individual posts?? I do. It's kinda fun that way.

this is what we woke up to on

easter morning

some "baloos" for Jaxon.

Jax got a blow up pool and water wings, a bunny in a car, peeps and loooooots of candy.
Andrew got a new swimming suit and flip flops.

I got a bunch of bath and body stuff.

NICE!

it's tradition {easter part two}

Ok, my family has this tradition. I didn't know it was so odd until I left home. You can laugh. Andrew did. Every Easter, on Easter, we roll our colored eggs down a hill. We watch them get all cracked up. I don't exactly know the point of this. It seems quite silly, I am aware. My brother would shoot his eggs with his BB gun. Andrew thinks this is a total waste of good hard boiled eggs that we spent hours coloring. Yes, I see how that is true. But, this is a tradition, & we HAD to do it. At least kind of. We went to a grassy hill and rolled/threw them down. None of the eggs cracked. So it was a win-win. I got to roll my eggs down a hill, and then we got to pick them up and keep them to eat. (egg salad sandwiches-yum!) Not a total waste. Jax had fun, and that's what matters.

{easter} part one.

coloring eggs might be my favorite easter festivity. the fun could go on and on. Last Easter, Jax was a stinker man and mostly just cried through Easter (he cried through the first 5 months of life.) But this year he was able to get in on the action. He really liked "coloring" the easter eggs. He only cracked a couple. we only had 2 dozen! Next year, we need to get more.
Andrew & I fight over who gets to put the little color tablets in the cups of vinegar. It's SOOO fun to watch them dissolve and fizzle!

I made an Elmo egg for Jax! He knew it was Elmo too!

this is what happens when I ask Andrew to color eggs and act natural about it.

our beauties.

Splash pad time!

This will be the first post, among many posts labeled "splash pad". Jax and I plan on spending most of our lives there this summer. And since "summer" basically begins in april and lasts til october, thats a looooong time. wahoo! Jax loves being anywhere where he can run free like the wild child he is, and me, I just love the sun. There are 6 splash pads here in Washington county and we've only checked out 2. I am excited to see the others. We will report back and let you know which one is the best. Oh, happy joyous summertime! If you live north of St. George (that includes practically all of the rest of Utah), I am sorry. I am not trying to rub it in your face. You are allowed to hate me right now. I would.
We went here last year, but I don't think Jax quite remembered. He was a little hesitant at first. He had to stare at it for awhile before this craziness made sense to him.
But once he saw the other kids......
You'll have to click on these and see them bigger. The picture up in the left hand corner is awesome. Jax has no fear, he just ran through it! His face was priceless!
And I got a nice little burn on my shoulders. Yipee for burns. They turn into tans.
Relax. Be nice. Whatever.
